Zusammenfassung:This sheet glass production method comprises an end-face grinding step for grinding an end face (Ga) of the sheet glass (G) and an end-face polishing step for polishing the end face (Ga) of the sheet glass (G) that has been ground, wherein the end-face polishing step include a first polishing step for performing polishing while pressing a first polishing grindstone (3) against the end-face (Ga) of the sheet glass (G) with a first pressing force (F1), and a second polishing step for performing polishing while pressing, with a second pressing force (F2), a second polishing grindstone (4) against the end-face (Ga) of the sheet glass (G) having undergone the polishing using the first polishing grindstone (3), and wherein the second pressing force (F2) is configured to be smaller than the first pressing force (F1).
