Zusammenfassung:A liquid crystal alignment agent is provided which can form a liquid crystal alignment film that has minimal occurrence of afterimages resulting from remaining DC, or AC afterimages, and that is easy to rework and has high transmittance. This liquid crystal alignment agent contains a polymer (A) having the repeating unit represented by formula (1), and a polymer (B) having the repeating unit represented by formula (2), the repeating unit represented by formula (3), the repeating unit represented by formula (4), and the repeating unit represented by formula (5). (In formula (1), X1 is a tetravalent organic group, and Y1 is a divalent organic group. In formulas (2)-(5), X2 is a divalent organic group.
