Zusammenfassung:	A display system and a display method. The display system includes a processing unit, a dimming circuit, a controller, a backlight module, and a display panel. The processing unit analyzes gray level distribution of a designated region of a display information, to generate a first backlight information. The dimming circuit is coupled to the processing unit, and generates a second backlight information according to gray level distribution of the display information. The controller is coupled to the processing unit and the dimming circuit. the controller calculates a calibrating backlight information according to the first and second backlight information. The backlight module includes a plurality of backlight regions. The backlight module controls brightness to be emitted by each of the backlight regions according to the calibrating backlight information.
