Purpose for repellence of cockroaches using Australian cypress (Callitris glaucophylla Thompson et Johnson) extract is provided. The Australian cypress extract is selected from a group consisting of the following: (a) an essential oil from Australian cypresses prepared by performing steam distillation on woods of the Australian cypresses by using water; (b) an ethanol extract from Australian cypresses prepared by extracting woods of the Australian cypresses by using ethanol; and (c) an ethyl acetate chromatographic substance from Australian cypresses prepared by performing distribution chromatography on an ethanol extract from the Australian cypresses by using ethyl acetate and water, and then, extracting a chromatographic solution on an upper layer. The invention is a novel purpose of the Australian cypress extract. By using the above-mentioned Australian cypress extract selected from (a) to (c), a cockroach repellence behavior can effectively occur to drive cockroaches away.
