Zusammenfassung:	Provided are: a wire-drawing lubricant that is not a liquid like prior pretreatment agents but a powder, does not generate sludge, does not require immersion and drying, and can be a convenient pretreatment agent, and that acts as a lubricant, which can exhibit the properties of lubrication, conformability, ductility, spreadability, adhesiveness, and heat resistance; and a wire-drawing method for effectively bringing the same into play. The wire-drawing lubricant comprises a powder with a mean volume-based particle diameter of 0.1 µm-100 µm. A base metal wire-drawing method using the same comprises: an electrostatic coating treatment step for adhering the wire-drawing lubricant onto the surface of a base metal that is to undergo wire-drawing, thus coating the same, by means of electrostatic coating; and a wire-drawing step for wire-drawing the base metal by reducing the diameter thereof with a die.
