Zusammenfassung:	The purpose of the present invention is to provide a polarizer which has a high iodine content. This polarizer is formed from a polyvinyl alcohol resin film. The iodine content of the polarizer is at least 12.5 wt%. According to the present invention, a polarizer can be provided which has a higher iodine content than polarizers in the prior art.
