The invention provides an ink discharge apparatus which can restrain mixing of bubbles into ink and is used for a buffer tank. An inkjet head for jetting ink drops and a first pump are inserted into an ink circulating path. A first buffer tank is inserted into a circulating path between the inkjet head and the first pump. The first buffer tank is provided with a first inflow opening and a first outflow opening. The ink flows into the first buffer tnak through the first inflow opening. The ink in the buffer tank flows out through the first outflow opening. A first opening/closing valve discharges air in the first buffer tank to outside from a position which is higher than the horizontal position of the firsts outflow opening.
