Zusammenfassung:	The present invention provides a liquid crystal composition which is characterized by having an adjusted refractive anisotropy (∆n), while having a sufficiently low viscosity (η) and a positive dielectric anisotropy (∆ε) with a large absolute value without deteriorating the temperature range of a nematic phase. This liquid crystal composition is chemically stable with respect to heat, light, water and the like and can be driven at a low voltage, thereby being highly reliable and practical, while having excellent display characteristics. Consequently, this liquid crystal composition is useful for a display element such as such as a mobile terminal, a liquid crystal TV and a monitor.
