Zusammenfassung:	Provided are an active energy ray curable resin composition capable of forming a display element spacer and a color filter protective film having exceptional heat-resistant transparency, flatness, flexibility, and toughness; and the display element spacer and the color filter protective film. This resin composition contains a reactive polycarboxylic acid compound (A), a reactive compound (B) other than compound (A), a photopolymerization initiator (C), and an organic solvent (D), compound (A) being obtained by causing the reactant of at least an epoxy resin (a) expressed by general formula (1) and a compound (b) having, in one molecule, one or more polymerizable ethylenic unsaturated groups and one or more carboxyl groups to react with a polybasic acid anhydride (d). (In the formula, n represents an integer 0-2).
