Disclosed is a purification method for removing yttrium from europium oxide containing yttrium, which includes the steps of: (A) providing europium oxide containing yttrium and dissolving the same in a solvent, thereby obtaining a saturated europium compound solution containing yttrium; (B) performing a recrystallization process at low temperature on the saturated europium compound solution containing yttrium, thereby obtaining a precipitate containing yttrium; (C) performing a calcination process on the precipitate containing yttrium and dissolving the same in an inorganic acid, thereby obtaining an electrolyte containing yttrium; and (D) performing an electrochemical reduction on the electrolyte containing yttrium and adding a precipitating agent so as to obtain a yttrium compound.
