The invention provides an electric vacuum cleaner. By using a leak valve which restrains the deviation and vibration of negative pressure working on the power-driven blower side and operates stably, the power-driven blower can be cooled certainly when the cross section area of an air path is acutely reduced or the air path is blocked. The electric vacuum cleaner (1) comprises a valve box (36) comprising an air guide-in opening (35) used for guiding air to the intake side of a power-driven blower (8), a valve base (37) arranged on the peripheral edge of the air guide-in opening (35) of the valve box (36), a valve body (38) disposed in the valve box (36), a spiral spring (39) pushes the valve body (38) towards the valve base (37), and a full closing stop portion (41) which is disposed on at least one of opposite surfaces of the valve body (38) or the valve base (37) to prevent the full closing of the air guide-in opening (35) and guide the air into the valve box (36).
