A drum-type washing machine (S) provided with: an outer tank (2) for collecting water therein; a drum (3), which is supported inside the outer tank (2) so as to rotate freely and in which clothing is placed; a drum motor (4) for rotating the drum (3); a water supply means (15) for supplying water into the outer tank (2); a circulation pump (24) for sucking in water from the outer tank (2) and spraying the water into the drum (3); and an operation control means (38) for controlling the drum motor (4), the water supply means (15), and the circulation pump (24). In the drum-type washing machine, the operation control means (38) controls the circulation pump (24) so that the circulation flow rate is 35 L/min to 68 L/min.
