Zusammenfassung: | The patent invents a new method to synthesize an alkaline composite solid polymer electrolyte membranes based on the polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) polymer, nano-TiO2 powders and KOH. A alkaline solid-state direct ethanol fuel cell (DEFC) comprised of alkaline composite polymer electrolyte membrane, an anode electrode with PtRu (1:1) black catalysts at a loading of 0.25-4.50 mg/cm2 and a cathode electrode with MnO2/BP2000 carbon black+CNT binary carbons at a loading of 1-30 wt.%, was assembled and examined in this invention. This alkaline DEFC shows excellent electrochemical performance with a maximum powder density of 16-17 mW/cm2 at 60 DEG C at ambient pressure (1 atm) in 2M KOH+2M C2H5OH solutions. This invention proposes a brand new method to prepare the green energy fuel cell, namely, alkaline direct ethanol fuel cell (DEFC) and each key component. |
