Zusammenfassung:	To improve traveling performance of a chain in a transmission apparatus for a bicycle. The transmission apparatus for the bicycle is equipped with an array guide 50 which is disposed between a drive sprocket and transmission sprocket group 40, and aligns a stayed chain C. The alignment guide 50 is composed of a guide roller 53a having an outer peripheral surface 58 guiding so as to align the staying part of the chain C. The outer peripheral surface 58 has a large diameter part 58a provided at the transmission sprocket 47 side of the minimum outside diameter and smaller diameter parts 58b, 58c which are provided at the transmission sprocket 41 side of the maximum outside diameter and smaller than the larger diameter part 58a. The chain C wound the transmission sprockets 41 to 43 is contacted to the smaller diameter parts 58b, 58c during no-staying of the chain C.
