Keyboard and method of converting the code for the key of the keyboard

A keyboard and method of converting the code for the key of the keyboard is disclosed. The keyboard includes at least one specific character or symbol key having a specific code based on the character encoding system of the keyboard, and a keyboard control module. The keyboard control module includes a controller for reading the specific code and a middleware module for detecting the code for the key and checking whether the specific code based on the character encoding system of the keyboard is the same as that based on the operating system. When the specific code based on the character encoding system of the keyboard is different from that based on the operating system, matrix mapping is performed to obtain a corresponding code under the operating system and the corresponding code is sent to the operating system to show specific character or symbol indicated by the key. The keyboard can not only provide the user with specific character or symbol in common use by directly pressing the key under various operating system, but also prevent the occurrences of showing disorder code for the key.
