A fastener, comprising: a uniaxially oriented polymeric substrate; a plurality of hooks disposed on a first side of said substrate; and a plurality of loops disposed on a second side of said substrate; wherein said fastener has a longitudinal axis, and wherein said substrate is oriented along said longitudinal axis.
