Deck configuration for a printing press

A deck for a printing press includes first and second rolls which are mounted for linear movement on a pair of spaced parallel rails. A rotatable ball screw moves the rolls along the rails. The axis of the screw substantially intersects the axes of the rolls. A printing press comprising: a frame, a central impression cylinder rotatably mounted on the frame, a roll support assembly movably mounted on the frame for movement toward and away from the central impression cylinder, a roll having an axis and being rotatably mounted on the roll support assembly for rotation about its axis, and a rotatable screw extending between the roll support assembly and the frame for moving the roll support assembly relative to the frame, the screw having an axis of rotation which substantially intersects the axis of the roll.
