Zusammenfassung:	For the heat treatment of grate ash (12), from a rubbish incinerator, it is passed directly by a feed (15) from the slag shaft (7) into the rotating pipe (10) where it is burned using a fuel (20) together with oxygen (19) or air enriched with oxygen. The exhaust gases (14) from the combustion are returned to the incinerator combustion zone (5), to be combined with the exhaust gases (22) from the incineration of the rubbish. The fuel (20) is at least partially solid.
