Zusammenfassung:Succinic amide derivatives of formula (I), wherein W is a -CO2H or -CONHOH group; R, R1 and R2 are each hydrogen or an organic residue, R3 is the residue of an alpha-aminoacid and R4 is an organic group, are inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and of the release of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF) from cells, and are therefore useful in the prevention, control and treatment of diseases in which MMPs or TNF are involved. A process for their preparation and pharmaceutical compositions containing them are also described.
