Method and device for input of Chinese character codes

The present invention relates to a method and a device for, by means of 9-square input method, inputting Chinese characters by a computer, a telephone, or a mobile phone. Each Chinese character is determined as either an unitary character or a traversal character and the first stroke of each Chinese character is differentiated into 9 different types respectively corresponding to the 9 numeric keys (1 to 9). Firstly, the numeric key corresponding to the first stroke of the Chinese character to be input should be pressed before pressing the numeric key of the pattern corresponding to the radical. A ""0"" should be pressed if the Chinese character is an unitary character and the numeric key corresponding to the first stroke of the Chinese character's right-hand part should be pressed if the Chinese character is a traversal character. Then, the required Chinese character can be selected. Without requiring any memorization, the present invention is simple and easy to learn and users can become familiar with the procedures in a short time.
