Arylbenzoylguanidines, the preparation and pharmaceutical compositions thereof

Arylbenzoylguanidines of the formula I and the physiologically harmless salts thereof. Formula I, in which R1 is A, mono- to tri-fluoromethane, difluoroethane, pentafluoroethane, nitrite, a halide, CCH, or -X-R4 halide; R2 and R3 each is an independent H, a halide, A, a -X-R4, cyanide, nitrite, mono- to tri-fluoromethane, penta- or tri-fluoroethane, -Son-R6, SO2NR4R5, Ph or -O-Ph; R5 is a H or A or R4 and R5 together form a alkyl group of 4 or 5 carbons with an optional substitution of O, S, NH, N-A, or N-CH2-Ph; R6 is A or Ph; A is an alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbons; X is O, S, or NR5; Ph is a phenyl, naphthyl, or polyphenol group that is optionally substituted by A, OA, NR4R5, F, Cl, Br; I, or mono- to tri-fluoromethane; n is 1 or 2. These compounds exhibit antiarrhythmic properties and act as the cellular Na/H antiporter inhibitors.
