In the roller hearth type continuous firing furnace for plasma display panel having a treating chamber has a muffle structure comprising a roof plate 11, a hearth plate 14 and internal plates 11 of hearth plate are detachably mounted to the inside portion of furnace side walls 3 to mark them separatable structure and detachably mounted to the outside portion of the furnace side walls 3. Electric heaters 17a, 17b are provided on the inside portion of the roof wall and the hearth wall.
