Zusammenfassung: | Method and apparatus for determining battery status to operate a portable electronic device (100) that is powered by at least one battery (104). The portable electronic device (100) includes a microcontroller (108) for controlling its operations, a battery monitor (102), and an interrupt signaller (106). The microcontroller (108) activates or deactivates a plurality of control signals to control the battery monitor (102) and the portable electronic device (100) in response to interrupt requests generated by the interrupt signaller (106). The interrupt requests are generated based on a plurality of predetermined battery conditions, including at least three predetermined voltage ranges, removal, and replacement of the at least one battery (104). In replacing the at least one battery (104), the microcontroller (108) polls the interrupt signaller (106) to sequentially determine the battery status of the at least one battery (104) before the portable electronic device(100) resumes operation. |
