Zusammenfassung:A position detection method for continuously detecting the position of a moving target object (50) has the step of acquiring an inspection image (71) by capturing a predetermined imaging range that includes the moving range of the target object (50). The position detection method has the step of predicting a current position of the target object (50) in the inspection image (71) based on a plurality of previously acquired positions of the target object (50), and extracting a partial image (72) centered on the predicted current position from the inspection image (71). The position detection method has the step of detecting the target object (50) in the partial image (72) to obtain the position of the target object (50). This can reduce the amount of processing required to detect the position of the target object (50) compared to the case where the target object (50) is detected from the entire inspection image (71).
