Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed herein is a catalyst and a process for the acetoxylation of olefins in a gaseous reaction stream containing an olefin, acetic acid, and an oxygen-containing gas using the catalyst. The catalyst may comprise a support material and a catalytic layer disposed on an external surface of the support material. The catalytic layer may comprise palladium and gold. The catalyst may comprise from 7 to 10 g/L palladium and from 3 to 8 g/L gold.
