A method of message generation implemented by an electronic device comprises: displaying a message editing interface containing at least one message template option; adding a template text message, corresponding to the message template option and including multiple sections to be edited, to the message editing interface, upon receiving a template selection instruction indicating the message template option; replacing at least one of the sections to be edited of the template text message with at least one selected specified words, thereby transforming the template text message into an edited text message including the specified words; and outputting the edited text message. The method in which the electronic device replaces the sections to be edited with the specified words includes: presenting multiple editing position options in the message editing interface, each corresponding to the sections to be edited; when one editing position option is selected, displaying multiple word options corresponding to the se
