A washing machine according to the present disclosure comprises a drum that accommodates laundry and rotates, and a motor that is energized to rotationally drive the drum. Further, the washing machine according to the present disclosure comprises: a current detecting unit for detecting a current conducted to the motor; a voltage detecting unit for detecting a voltage applied to the washing machine; and a control device for controlling the rotation of the motor. The control device is configured to be capable of executing a fabric quantity detecting step for determining a quantity of laundry accommodated in the drum on the basis of a current value detected by the current detecting unit. Further, the control device executes the fabric quantity detecting step if a value of the voltage detected by the voltage detecting unit is equal to or less than a first voltage value.
