Zusammenfassung:	A first aspect of the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a can container, the method including a step for forming, by means of a die necking tool, a reduced diameter section on one end of a can body that does not have a varnish layer on a surface thereof, wherein the dynamic friction coefficient between the die necking tool and the can body is 0.30 or less. In addition, a second aspect provides a can container including a can trunk section, a bottom section provided on one end side of the can trunk section, and a reduced diameter section having the diameter reduced on the other end side of the can trunk section, wherein a varnish layer is not formed at least on the outer surface of the reduced diameter section.
