Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:	A box-shaped air intake silencer (34) with vertical baffles (42) for a gas turbine system (10). The box-shaped silencer (34) has a silencer housing (32) having opposing ends with a first end (36) closed and a second end (38) opened to permit passage of air. Opposing sidewalls (40) extend between the first end (36) and the second end (38) with each of the sidewalls (40) operative to receive a perpendicular flow of intake air. A silencer (34) having vertically, spaced baffles (42) are disposed within the housing (32). A first end (46) of the baffles (42) face the first end (36) of the housing (32) and a second end (48) of the baffles (42) faces the second end (38) of the housing (32). Each of the baffles (42) extend horizontally between the first end (36) and the second end (38) of the housing (32). The baffles (42) receive the perpendicular flow of intake air proximate the first end (36) of the housing (32) and direct the intake air towards the second end (38) of the housing (32) for passage therethrough.
