A respiratory status classifying method is for classifying at least two respiratory statuses. The characteristic chest image generating step includes processing at least a part of a plurality of chest images for training, segmenting images of a left lung, a right lung and a heart of each of the processed chest images for training, and enhancing image data of the segmented images, so as to generate a plurality of characteristic chest images.
