Zusammenfassung:	A method of operating a liquid sealing pump discharges a liquid from a vacuum pipe 30 connected to a liquid sealing vacuum pump 28, drives the liquid sealing vacuum pump 28 until a sealing liquid supplied under pressure reaches a predetermined amount at the liquid sealing vacuum pump 28 and pressure in the vacuum pipe 30 decreases to a predetermined pressure, terminates supply of the pressurized sealing liquid to the liquid sealing vacuum pump 28 when the pressure in the vacuum pipe 30 has decreased to the predetermined pressure, and circulates the sealing liquid from the liquid sealing vacuum pump 28 through a circulation flow path 40 and maintains a state in which a predetermined amount of the sealing liquid is present in the liquid sealing vacuum pump 28.
