An electronic device and a method of root cause analysis for a VoIP signaling loop. The method includes: capturing a plurality of signalings from a telecommunication core network; arranging the plurality of signalings in order according to time to obtain signaling information, wherein the signaling information includes a status code corresponding to session initiation protocol, a result code of location information answer, and number portability routing information (NRI); and determining the root cause of the VoIP signaling loop according to the status code, the result code, and the NRI and outputting the root cause.
