A section steel processing method mainly includes: marking section steel specification information of a section steel on the section steel for allowing a reading device to read the section steel specification information; transmitting the read section steel specification information to a processing machine control system, wherein the processing machine control system is preconfigured with a plurality of processing items and corresponding work-piece dimension information of to-be-processed work-pieces; using the processing machine control system to compare the dimension information of each work-piece according to the transmitted section steel specification information so as to find out the corresponding processing items and generate a matched work-piece list; and then selecting one processing item from the matched work-piece list by manual selection or automatic selection thereby ensuring that the section steel matches the work-piece dimension information preconfigured in the processing machine control system.
