Zusammenfassung: | To provide a liquid crystal alignment agent which can form a liquid crystal alignment membrane for making compatible both high-rubbing resistance and a favorable voltage holding characteristic, can suppress the generation of sublimation foreign matters when forming the liquid crystal alignment membrane by using an optical alignment method, and can obtain a liquid crystal element which is excellent in vibration resistance. A polymer [P] selected from a group which is composed of a polyamic acid, polyamic acid ester and polyimide, and having a partial structure expressed by a formula (1) as a main chain is contained in a liquid crystal alignment agent. In the formula, R1 and R2 are a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group independently. X1 is a single-bond or divalent organic group. D 1 is a monovalent group which is replaced to a hydrogen atom by at least any of heat, light, an acid and a base. "*" expresses a bonding hand for bonding atoms constituting a polymer main chain. |
