Collection device for collecting dust from vacuum cleaner

The present invention comprises a connection detection unit that detects whether a vacuum cleaner has been connected to a collection device, a motor that rotationally drives a rotary vane unit and thereby generates suction force that suctions dust into the vacuum cleaner, and a motor control unit that operates the motor in response to the connection detection unit detecting connection of the vacuum cleaner to the collection device and stops the motor in response to the connection detection unit detecting removal of the vacuum cleaner from the collection device. The motor control unit starts the motor on the condition that the time interval between a detection time at which the connection detection unit detects connection of the vacuum cleaner to the collection device and an operation stoppage time at which the motor was stopped before the detection time is above a prescribed interval threshold value.
