Zusammenfassung:A semiconductor nanoparticle composed of a semiconductor crystal of a compound containing Ag, Au, and S as essential constituent elements, and a total content of Ag, Au, and S as the constituent elements is 95% by mass or more. Further, the compound is preferably a AgAuS ternary compound represented by a formula Ag (nx) Au (ny) S (nz). In the formula, n is any positive integer. x, y, and z indicate a ratio of the number of atoms of each atom of Ag, Au, and S in the compound, and are real numbers such that 0 < x, y, z ≤ 1. Further, x / y is 1/7 or more and 7 or less. The semiconductor nanoparticles have appropriate luminescence / absorption characteristics and also have biocompatibility.
