The method comprising: (i) providing (100, 200) at least two partial streams (1, 2, 3) which respectively comprise the metal salt-containing medium from different processes (150, 250, 300) of the circuit board and/or substrate manufacture, (ii) combining (405) the at least two partial streams (1, 2, 3) to a total stream (4) which comprises the metal salt-containing medium, and (iii) processing (400) the total stream (4).
