Zusammenfassung:	A stereoscopic display device includes: a first image display part, which outputs first image light of linear polarization; a second image display part, which outputs second image light of linear polarization; a first retardation plate, which modulates the first image light outputted from the first image display part for conversion into first elliptically polarized light; a second retardation plate, which modulates the second image light outputted from the second image display part for conversion into second elliptically polarized light that rotates in the same direction as a rotation direction of the first elliptically polarized light; and a half mirror that transmits the first elliptically polarized light and sets the first elliptically polarized light to first circularly polarized light that rotates in the same direction as the rotation direction of the first elliptically polarized light.
