A polyurethane foam dressing is prepared by the following steps: (a) providing a hydrophobic polyol with six hydroxyl groups, the hydrophobic polyol being prepared by the following sub-steps: (a1) making a branched triol react with a first diisocyanate to obtain a triisocyanate intermediate, and (a2) making the triisocyanate intermediate react with a hydrophobic polyether triol. (b) providing a hydrophilic diisocyanate, which is obtained by a second diisocyanate reacting with a hydrophilic polyether diol; (c) making the hydrophobic polyol react with the hydrophilic diisocyanate to obtain a prepolymer containing 3-6 isocyanate groups; (d) mixing the prepolymer with a hydrophilic polyether polyol, a foaming agent, a capping agent, a strengthening agent, and a catalyst to form the polyurethane foam dressing.
