An antibacterial agent contains an extract of a Chinese herbal medicine (kampo) selected from the group consisting of shin'iseihaito, keigairengyoto, kakkontokasenkyusini, and syoseiryuto, wherein each of these extracts is used in a prescribed dose. The antibacterial agent exhibits a selective antibacterial action versus a target bacterium, but does not exhibit an antibacterial action for Staphylococcus aureus in the indigenous condition. |
