Driving machine

Provided is a driving machine capable of keeping the nose section from coming into contact with a fastener due to recoiling from the striker having struck the fastener. A driving machine 10 comprises a body; a striker movably supported by the body; a handle 20 projecting from the body; and a nose section 13 that is attached to the body and retains a nail 78 prior to being struck by the striker, wherein: the nose section 13 movably accommodates the striker, and includes an ejection path 97 for guiding the nail 78 and an ejection port which is joined to the ejection path 97 and out of which the nail 78 is fired; on the handle 20 side of the ejection path 97, provided is an opening 98 extending from the ejection port toward the handle 20; and the width of the opening 98 is greater than the outer diameter of the head of the nail 78 in plan view perpendicular to the direct-acting line of the striker.
