A vapor generation unit (1) used for the non-combustion flavor inhaler (2) is provided with: a wick (13), which holds a liquid; a wick support (14) for installation of wick (13); a heater (11) has a accommodation space (17d) and a heater element (15), wherein the accommodation space (17d) contains a wick component (12) formed by the wick (13) and the wick support (14), and the heater element (15) is in contact with the wick (13); a holder (10), which is mounted on the heater element (15) side of the assembly (54) of the heater (11) and the wick component (12); and a positioning mechanism, which is capable of accommodating the wick assembly (12) in the accommodation space (17d) at the non-contact position of the wick (13) to the heater element (15) and moving the wick assembly (12) already contained in the accommodation space (17d) toward the contact position of the wick (13) with the heater element (15) and positioning the wick assembly (12).
