Automated material taking system and method capable of holding and moving out the target material without colliding other material, so as to effectively overcome the inconvenience of the prior art

A control unit of an automated material taking system controls a photographing unit to shoot a pile of materials to obtain a photographed image and generate multiple material data according to the photographed image. Each material data comprises a material image, a material coordinate, and a material angle. The control unit generates a plurality of normalized images according to the material images and the material angles and selects one or more target normalized images that meet a predetermined condition from the normalized images. The predetermined condition comprises that the ratio between a displayed part of a candidate material and the entire candidate material in the normalized image reaches a predetermined threshold. The control unit controls a material taking unit to hold and move out the at least one target material according to the material coordinates corresponding to the at least one target material corresponding to the target normalized image(s).
