Zusammenfassung:	A transfer device 20 comprises: a fork part 21 on which a cassette 90 is placed and moved in and out horizontally; a swivel part 24 for swiveling the fork part 21 back; and an elevating part 31 for elevating the fork part 21. The elevating part 31 is arranged more outside than the turning circle R of the fork portion 21, and the fork part 21 is swung back by the turning portion 24. Specifically, this invention provides a transfer device in which the fork part for placing an article and moving it in a horizontal direction can be moved in and out in four directions and the floor of the entire device can be lowered.
