The present invention is aimed at providing techniques pertinent to an electrothermic lighter for igniting a carbon heat source of a flavor inhaler of a carbon heat source type. The present invention comprises a tubular holder including therein a flavor source, and an electrothermic lighter for a flavor inhaler of a carbon heat source type for igniting a carbon heat source disposed at an end of an axial direction of the holder. Said electrothermic lighter includes an electrical heater for igniting the carbon heat source. The electrical heater is comprised of a bottom heating portion for heating a front surface of the carbon heat source, and a side heating portion for heating a side surface of the carbon heat source.
