Signals can be applied to one or more electrodes, such as to control the shape or position of the interface. The chamber can include a raised portion, which can function to position one or both the first and second fluids in the chamber. The raised portion can also affect the shape of the interface. The device can include interdigitated electrodes. The device can be an optical switch, in some implementations. The device can be a liquid lens in some implementations.
