The present disclosure provides a method and electronic device for communication on high speed rail, aspects of the disclosure provide an electronic device having a transceiver circuit and a processing circuit. The transceiver circuit is configured to transmit signals to and receive signals from wireless service provider networks. The processing circuit is configured to detect a signature of high speed rail (HSR), control the electronic device to enter a HSR mode when the signature is detected, and prioritize an HSR service provider network over one or more other wireless service provider networks when the electronic device is HSR eligible.
