Apparatus and method for estimating wireless transmission performance

An apparatus for estimating wireless transmission performance comprising a wireless receiving device, a control unit, a wireless transmission device and a performance estimating unit. At least two transmission antenna of the wireless transmission device and at least two receiving antennas of the wireless receiving device constitute a MIMO system, for transmitting a wireless signal to the wireless receiving device. The performance estimating unit, connected to the wireless receiving device, has application layer software and obtains EVM of the received wireless signal. The control unit, controlled by the performance estimating unit, changes radiation characteristics of the least two receiving antennas, for reducing the EVM. The performance estimating unit obtains PHY data rate from the physical layer of the wireless receiving device, and takes the PHY data rate as the wireless throughput of the wireless receiving device, in order to estimate the performance of the wireless receiving device.
