Zusammenfassung: | A liquid crystal alignment film that contains a polymer which has an aromatic heterocyclic ring, a primary amino group and a secondary amino group in the structure; and a liquid crystal aligning agent which is capable of forming this liquid crystal alignment film. It is preferable that the aromatic heterocyclic ring, the primary amino group and the secondary amino group are produced when the liquid crystal alignment film is fired; and the liquid crystal aligning agent specifically contains at least one polymer that is selected from among polyamic acids and polyimides that are imidized products of the polyamic acids, said polyamic acids being reaction products of a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride and a diamine component that contains at least one diamine selected from among the component (A) and the component (B) described below and a diamine containing a skeleton of the component (C) described below.
