Zusammenfassung:	This invention provides a method for producing a film having excellent external quantum efficiency when being used for light emitting layer of light emitting element. This invention relates to a method for producing film, containing the steps of: an ink preparation step of preparing an ink containing a predetermined metal complex and an organic solvent, an ink storage step of storing the ink prepared in the ink preparation step in a light-shielding environment for 3 days or more, and a film formation step of forming a film by a coating method using the ink stored in the ink storage step, wherein, the ink stored in the ink storage step is: when the content according to the area percentage value determined by liquid chromatography for the predetermined metal complex is taken as 100, a total content of area percentage values of metal complexs having a molecular weight larger than that of the predetermined metal complex by 16, 32 or 48 calculated by liquid chromatography is 0.6 or less.
